CALL FOR ENTRIES 2015 - Cité Internationale des Arts

The residency program at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris is designed for foreign artists, who want to develop a creative project in Paris for a period of three months. Artists must have been identified either by the cultural services of French Embassies, by Instituts français worldwide or by the Alliances françaises prior to their application.

Unlike previous years, there will be only one call for applications for the 2015 residency program at the Cité Internationale des Arts.

The Institut français has 13 workshops of 40 m2 each for foreign artist at the Cité Internationale des Arts. The artists in residence come to develop a creative project over a period of three months. Immersion in the heart of Paris enables them to concentrate fully on their creativity and deepen their research outside of their routine context. For over 10 years, 40 artists have been sponsored by this residency program of the French Institute.

The call for applications is open until 2015 December 8, 2014.

3 consecutive months

Conditions

The Institut français supports workshop rental & housing at the Cité Internationale des Arts (18, rue de l'Hotel de Ville – in the Marais in Paris).
All costs and expenses incurred outside of this aid are the sole responsibility of the candidate.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

     - Be engaged in working life;
     - Speak French or English;
     - Materials about their previous works;
     - Be autonomous in the management of the residence;
     - Break free of their work throughout the period of stay.

No age limit is imposed.

Calendar

Call for applications: October 7, 2014.
Registration deadline for applications: December 8, 2014 inclusive.
Selection Committee: mid January 2015.

Selection Procedure

In addition to assessing the candidate's professional background, particular attention is paid to the quality of the project, the necessity of living in Paris, the protocol proposed work and existing contacts.
The selection committee is chaired by the Associate Executive Director of the Institut français and composed of experts from the Institut français and a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
All decisions taken are final and the Institut français reserves the right to reject any proposal without justification.

Application

Applications must be filled in either by the Embassy of France, by Instituts français worldwide or by the Alliances françaises of the country of residence of the candidate on the platform IFprog, and validated by the Cultural Advisor of the French Embassy.
