Four French Authors Announced at the Toronto Comic Arts Festival 2016 (May 14-15)

The Toronto Comic Arts Festival (TCAF) has just announced four Featured Guests from France: Marguerite Abouet, Balak, & Bastien Vivès, in partnership with the Consulate General of France in Toronto.

Marguerite Abouet is the award-winning creator of the Aya series of books (published in English by Drawn+Quarterly), detailing everyday life in the Côte d’Ivoire. She has also written Akissi, out in English from Flying Eye Books.

Balak works as a storyboard artists, 2D animator and TV show director in France. He works with Marvel Comics on the new digital Infinite Comics brand as a storyboard artist. He is also well known for his work on The Last Man series with Bastien Vives and Michaël Sanlaville (out in English from First Second Books).

Bastien Vivès is an incredibly popular and talented cartoonist from France. He is one third of the team behind The Last Man series of books, as well as the creator of The Taste of Chlorine and Polina (available in English from Jonathan Cape), as well as many more books in French.
