François Garde wins the Québec-France award

Award winner François Garde received the 2014 France-Quebec literature prize for his first novel Ce qu'il advint du sauvage blanc (Gallimard 2012), during the Salon international du livre de Québec. This book previously received numerous distinctions, such as the 2012 Prix Jean Gionnot or the 2012 Prix Goncourt. This novel - based on a true story - tells us the misadventure of Narcisse Pelletier, who was a sailor stranded on an island for seventeen years, and who returned to France in 1861.
