Julie Maroh in Toronto

December 10, 2013 | By Francecanadaculture Toronto

Comics author Julie Maroh was in Toronto from December 5 to 7, 2013 to present the widely acclaimed Blue Is the Warmest Color and her latest graphic novel, Skandalon. Blue Is the warmest Color has been adapted by Abdellatif Kechiche into an award-winning film of the same title.

Julie Maroh came to Toronto on the occasion of the release of the English translation of Le bleu est une couleur chaude, published by Canadian publisher Arsenal Pulp Press, which she presented at The Beguiling bookstore. She also took part in presentations, discussions and signings at the Toronto French Book Fair.

The film’s success has propelled the English translation of Julie Maroh’s book onto The New York Times’ bestsellers list for graphic novels. To date, 30.000 copies have been printed and a fourth print run is on its way.

In this video, she describes her latest book, Skandalon.
