FRENCH FILMS On Campus 2015/2016

French Films on Campus is a program presented by the Cultural Services of the Embassy and the Consulates of France in Canada. Its purpose is to bring the best of Contemporary French Cinema to college and university students by providing the means for them to organize their own French Film Festivals. The French Films on Campus team is pleased to bring you a rich selection covering a variety of subjects and genres that range from comedy and action to animation and documentary. The majority of the selected films are in French with English subtitles with only one film in English with French subtitles, which had originally been shot in English.

In addition to the 16 new films added this year , the 24 films from the last years edition are still available!

Among the 40 films listed in our selection, you can chose 5 films or more to create your festival programming - à la carte!  Along with the possibility of screening each film several times, you may also pick your own dates with no limitations regarding the length of your festival.

Screening fees have already been negotiated with the film distributors at the lowest rate by the French Cultural Services. Once you have made your film selection, simply contact the relevant distributors to pay the screening fees (distributors’ contact details and screening fees are listed in this document).

We will have communication materials ready for you to use at no cost for the promotion of your French Film Festival (flyers, posters, customizable program guides…) You will also receive delivery of the screening materials  – DVD or/and Blu-Ray - at no extra charge and we will coordinate the guests’ visit to your festival with UniFrance when needed.

The Cultural Services of France in Canada would be pleased to support the invitation of professionals and to help organize masterclasses during the festival edition. The New faces of French animation program can be presented by Marcel Jean, director of the Annecy  International Animated Film Festival and the Cultural Services can support the invitation of directors part of this program.

UniFrance, the government agency in charge of the promotion of French Cinema abroad is partnering with us for French Film on Campus. For the colleges and universities with the largest potential draw, UniFrance will cover the airfares of artists - filmmakers or actors – in an effort to allow them to present their work in person. This will provide the festival organizers with a unique opportunity to enrich their programs through Q&As, masterclasses and possibly retrospectives depending on the guest.
