13 films supported by the “World Cinemas Support” at TIFF 2014

August 25, 2014 | By francecanadaculture Film

The World Cinema Support ("Aide aux cinémas du monde") is a fund dedicated to international co-productions. Jointly created by the Ministry for Culture and Communication and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, it is managed by the Centre National du Cinéma et de l'Image Animée (CNC) and the Institut français. This is a selective fund, and is granted as a subsidy either before or after completion of a project. It is granted to foreign feature-length film projects that are seeking support from French co-producers.

The aim of the fund is to encourage and develop co-production with countries in which cinematography makes a significant contribution to the promotion of cultural diversity, by its high artistic standard or by presenting French and foreign audiences with new experiences and ways of seeing.

At TIFF 2014, 13 films supported by the Institut Français and the Centre National du Cinéma et de l'Image Animée (CNC)  via this fund will be presented:
