Canadian filmmaker Claudia Hébert, winner of the 2017 Cité internationale des arts program

Each year, the Cité internationale des arts program is open to foreign creators, who wish to develop a project of research in Paris during a period of three or six consecutive months. These artists may be identified by the Institut français, Alliances françaises, cultural services of the French Embassies or French and foreign cultural organizations. In 2017,  En 2017, Canadian filmmaker Claudia Hébert has been awarded. On this occasion, her works will be showcased on May 30th at the Cité internatonale des arts in Paris.

After studying contemporary dance, Claudia Hébert focused on cinema and graduated in film production from Concordia University in Montreal and then the University of York in Toronto. This is where the artist settled in afterwards and wrote, directed and edited her first short films of fiction: Les deuxièmes, Le Déni, L’empreinte, 8,75$ et de vidéo-danse : […] Said the Cat, Portrait dans l’attente. She is now focused on writing her first feature film: L’instinct

During her residency at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris, Claudia Hébert wished to write the script of her first fiction feature film entitled L’instinct. She will also takes the opportunity of this residency to develop projects of series and short films.
