"Cinécole" School Contest

November 25, 2015 | By francecanadaculture French Language

IFcinéma is a free online catalogue of films offered by Institut français. Each film is accompanied by “teacher” sheets, which are fantastic teaching tools that you can use in class.

As part of the French Embassy’s efforts to promote digital education, we invite you to take part in the Cinécole contest.

In March 2016, the Month of La Francophonie, each class must produce a short film (maximum two minutes) where students will play out a scene of the film of their choice. The scene must include dialogue in French and the original scene must be shown at the same time. Students will be able to decide if they want to reproduce the scene exactly or to parody the original, letting their creativity run wild.

The winning class will have the privilege of having a French cinema professional come and visit their class sometime before the end of the 2015–2016 school year.

  1. January 31st, 2016: if you are interested in taking part in this project, please contact Samuel Coeytaux, Education Attaché, to confirm your participation before the end of January 2016.
