French New Cinema at the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma

Festival du nouveau cinéma

From October 8 to 19, 2014, the Festival du nouveau cinéma will show more than 300 short and long movies from Canada and abroad. The Festival du nouveau cinéma is dedicated to the diffusion and development of new practices in cinema and new technologies. It is the opportunity to make known original and new works, promoting auteur filmmakers and digital creation. For eleven days, films, installations, performances, intermedia projects, networking sessions, conferences and meetings will be offered to visitors.

For 40 years now, the Festival du nouveau cinéma has fulfilled its mission with purpose and passion.

French new cinema

This year again, as a reflection of Quebec-France friendship, French films and guests receive a place of honour, with 35 French films in the selection: Alain Chabat, Quentin Dupieux, Ioanis Nuguet, Thomas Bartel, and a number of other French profesionnals will be there. The parntership between FNC, Air France and Canal+ Canada is going on.To watch is the French classic Le jour se lève, tribute to Marcel Carné.
