MEZZO LIVE HD is pleased to announce its launch in Canada. This television channel, an international reference for classical music, jazz and dance, is already broadcast in 50 countries and watched by 28 million subscribers. It is owned by the Lagardère group and France Televisions, and published by Lagardère Active.
 
MEZZO LIVE HD is inviting Canadian viewers to the finest concert halls. This is a rare chance for viewers to fully experience—from the comfort of their home—the emotion of a live performance captured in the best possible technical conditions. Thanks to high definition and superb sound quality, MEZZO LIVE HD takes you as close as you will get to musical sensitivity! The station expressed its determination to provide content that is suitable for all ages, and to be as indispensable to music lovers as it is accessible to newcomers.
 
In order to offer constantly expanding content, rich in live performances, MEZZO LIVE HD is teaming up with the biggest musical institutions in the world (Paris Opera and Paris Orchestra, Berlin Staatsoper, Salzburg Festival, Bolshoi, Berlin Philharmonic, Aix-en-Provence Festival, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Jazz in Marciac, Théâtre de Chaillot, Vienna Opera, etc.)


 
MEZZO LIVE HD is extremely proud to announce two new partnerships with major players on the world’s musical scene: the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal and the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal.
 
Three concerts by the renowned orchestra have already been filmed during the 2014-2015 season:

-          Gluck: Iphigeneia in Aulis (Overture) - Brahms: Concerto for violin
Schumann: Symphony No. 1 The Spring Symphony
with Arabella Steinbacher (violin) and the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, Sir Roger Norrington
Recorded on April 15-16, 2015 at the Maison symphonique de Montréal
 
-          Grieg: Peer Gynt (Suite No. 1) - Mozart: Piano Concerto No. 25 - Sibelius: Symphony No. 2
with Piotr Anderszewski (piano)and the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, Kent Nagano

Next season, MEZZO LIVE HD will co-produce the filming of new concerts, in addition to a full month devoted to the Montreal Symphony Orchestra in the fall.
 
MEZZO LIVE HD is also teaming up with the largest jazz festival in the world, filming at least five concerts during the 2015 Montreal International Jazz Festival, featuring artists from all walks of life performing in key places to showcase the excellence and diversity of this Montreal institution!
MEZZO LIVE HD is now available for Videotron customers (channels 820 - HD and 220 - Standard). A free preview of the channel will be available until July 8. The channel will be available for Bell Fibe TV customers as of June 18 (channel 1129) and Cogeco customers as of May 27 (channel 585). Talks are ongoing with other major Canadian providers.
