First set up by Robert Delpire in 1988, the HCB Award has been revived in 2003 whith the opening of the HCB Foundation. The prize was awarded to Chris Killip in 1989 and to Josef Koudelka in 1991.

Call for the selection of fellows (pensionnaires) 2015/2016 - Villa Medicis

The French Academy in Rome announces the competition for selecting resident fellows 2015/2016 (pensionnaires) at Villa Medici starting next September for a period of 12 to 18 months. The competition is open to French-speaking artists and scholars of all nationalities, aged from 20 to 45 (by December 31, 2015).

Eiffel scholarship for Master and Ph.D studies in France

The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Programme was established by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development to enable French higher education establishments to attract top foreign students to enrol in their master’s and PhD courses.

Short stories contest: Write at the museum

CALL FOR ENTRIES 2015 - Cité Internationale des Arts

The residency program at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris is designed for foreign artists, who want to develop a creative project in Paris for a period of three months. Artists must have been identified either by the cultural services of French Embassies, by Instituts français worldwide or by the Alliances françaises prior to their application. Application is now open!


The Institut des hautes études en arts plastiques (IHEAP) offers participants a course of study where they can free themselves from the inherited art history of the 20th century, by investigating crucial issues of art in the 21st century, an ongoing history in which the participants will eventually take part. IHEAP is open to all those who have an interest in singular and extreme practices which currently and sporadically appear in the art world and elsewhere.

Globalink Research Award - Campus France

The French Embassy/Mitacs fellowship program is offered by the Cultural Service and the Scientific Service in Canada. It targets outstanding Master and Ph.D. students from Canadian universities who seek to engage in research in France and Canada, in any discipline of the Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences. The program fellows are selected through a merit-based competition, through a binational collaborative process involving expert evaluators from both countries.
