The Institut français and the City of Paris offer an artist-in-residence program dedicated to established foreign artists and writers at the Centre international d’accueil et d’échanges des Récollets, a venue for artists and researchers from around the world. The call for entries is open until June 17, 2014.

The Festival du nouveau cinéma in Montreal champions the latest practices in cinema and new technology with an international program of almost 300 films, multimedia installations, performances, conferences and events. The Festival's 43rd edition will run from October 8 to 19, 2014. The festival is now launching is call for submissions.

Globalink Research Award - Campus France

The French Embassy/Mitacs fellowship program is offered by the Cultural Service and the Scientific Service in Canada. It targets outstanding Master and Ph.D. students from Canadian universities who seek to engage in research in France and Canada, in any discipline of the Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences. The program fellows are selected through a merit-based competition, through a binational collaborative process involving expert evaluators from both countries.

French Embassy - Universities Canada Travel Grant

The French Embassy – Universities Canada Travel Grant provides full-time Canadian undergraduate students with the opportunity to pursue for-credit university exchange programs or for-credit internships in France. Successful applicants will receive support to spend up to four months in France as part of their academic program. This grant allows Canadian students to further their academic growth while gaining valuable international experience in a French-speaking environment.

Residency Scholarship for Foreign Translators

The Centre national du Livre provides residency scholarships for foreign translators who wish to stay in France to work on a translation project commissioned by a foreign publisher having a publishing contract for a French work.The application has to be submitted by the translator. The scholarship is 2,000 euros per month, for a duration of 1 to 3 months.Deadline for submitting application: February 20th / June 10th / October 31st.For more information, please contact:Centre national du livre

Joint PhD/Cotutelle Programs

International joint doctoral programs (cotutelle de thèse) is a mechanism that promotes mobility among doctoral candidates while encouraging scientific cooperation between French and foreign research teams. Candidates in a joint supervision program conduct their research under the oversight of, and with guidance from, a dissertation adviser from each of the 2 countries involved in the program.

European program opportunities

The Erasmus + and Horizon 2020 programs as well as the program Euraxess links will be in effect until 2020. Erasmus+ is the European Union’s programme for higher education, training, youth and sport. It aims to boost skills and employability, as well as modernizing Education, Training, and Youth work. Horizon 2020 is the European Union’s main instrument for funding research and innovation activities.
