From July 25 to August 4, the Comédie-Française settles at the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde within the framework of the event A nous la scène.

The famous company will play Lucrèce Borgia of Victor Hugo, directed by Denis Podalydès and with Elsa Lepoivre as Lucrèce.


The Comédie-Française

The Comédie Française was founded in 1680 by order of Louis XIV to merge the only two Parisian theatre companies of the time. It is considered as the oldest still-active theatre in the world and gathers 63 players today.


Lucrèce Borgia

Lucrèce Borgia is a 1833 play by Victor Hugo, that portrays in 3 acts the story of Gennaro and his powerful but incestuous mother, Lucrèce. Victor Hugo accomplishes the near impossible task of combining the grotesque and the sublime to follow the fate of a mother whose hands are stained with blood.
