A pure creation, a one-of-the-kind, a duo.

A pure creation, a one-of-the-kind, a duo. This briefly and accurately sum up the French shows that will be presented at the NAC in 2015-2016.

The 2015-2016 Dance and Theatre seasons have been unveiled in April and features the work of three of the most creative artists of French contemporary landscape.

A pure creation

Two of Joël Pommerat’s previous works already staged at the NAC: La reunification des deux Corées and Cendrillon. He returns to the NAC from March 16 to 19, 2015 with a new creation Ça ira (1) Fin de Louis that will premiered at Mons 2015 in Belgium. After several productions performed in the round or on an alley stage, Joël Pommerat returns to a simpler form that puts the emphasis back on the dynamics of physical movement and ideas and questions long-accepted notions of democracy, society and state that have recently resurfaced as topics of international debate.

A one-of-the-kind

Phia Ménard will manipulate anything (except puppets) and juggle anything (except balls). Indeed, the artistic director of Compagnie Non Nova prefers to work with things that are elusive and difficult to grasp. This time she has chosen to explore something you can’t even see: the wind. Its gentle breezes and violent gusts inspired L’après-midi d’un foehn - Version 1, a one-of-a-kind fairy tale for plastic-bag characters. The show is to be seen December 19-20, 2015.

A duo

Multiple award-winning Company Wang Ramirez is a duo of artist-dancer-choreographers. As creative directors and performers, they bring dance towards music, film, fashion, contemporary art, and advertisement. In Monchichi, they confront identity, love, and the enigma of cultural difference. Monchichi will be presentated from February 25 to 27, 2016.
