OTTAWA - The huge creatures of the Compagnie La Machine

July 21, 2017 | By Ottawa

The Spider and the Horse-Dragon of the Machines de l'île will are coming to Ottawa in July

SCHEDULE -

A North American first, La Machine will captivate audiences with its ambulatory urban theatre on the streets of downtown Ottawa from July 27 to 30, 2017.

“Taking a production of this magnitude to the streets, where a collective imagination, an intangible heritage and a shared identity come into being, is not a trivial matter. A nation’s identity and culture stems from these grassroots,” said François Delarozière, Artistic Director, La Machine. “We hope our art form will connect with and inspire Ottawa residents and all Canadians in 2017"

After initiating discussions with La Machine in their hometown, Nantes, in February 2015, Guy Laflamme knew that they would be a riveting component of the celebration program. “It’s a thrill and an honour to introduce La Machine to North American audiences” noted the Executive Director of the Ottawa 2017 Bureau.

Their majestic creatures and style of roving theatre will enchant and create cherished, unforgettable moments.
