This first in-depth investigation reveals the portraiture talent of French artist Paul Gauguin. Through imaginative self-portraits – in which the artist assumes various roles – as well as atypical illustrations of friends, family members and women in France and Polynesia, the exhibition highlights Gauguin’s extraordinary creativity in portraiture.
Organized by the National Gallery of Canada and the National Gallery of London.
Opening go the exhibition May 23rd @6pm
