Alliance Française de Vancouver
On the occasion of the Capture Photography Festival, Alliance Française de Vancouver is pleased to present the exhibition of the photograph Gabriel Martins.
Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, Gabriel Martins’ interest in photography was inspired by his trips across 24 countries and the work of the renowned photojournalist Sebastião Salgado.
With over 10 years of experience in technology and a Masters Degree in the field, Gabriel moved to Vancouver in 2014 and decided to pursue his passion for photography. He graduated from the Professional Photography Diploma at Langara, where he developed his skills and sharpened his sight.
He believes that the photographer should never be more important than the story or subject, and would like to leave a legacy through his work.
Exhibition description:
The exhibit portrays the streets of Montréal through photographs taken during the Summer of 2017, when the city celebrated its 375th anniversary. Street festivals, street performers and some of the best murals of the world are featured in this exhibit, which shows the vibrancy of Montréal, and aims to question our usage of public spaces and how people interact through them.
