Join Sophie Barthélémy, Director of Musée des Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux, France, for a discussion about the work of artist Henri Matisse (1869-1954) and his life-long friendship with Fauvist painter Albert Marquet (1875-1947).
This lecture is featured within the current exhibition French Moderns, until May 20 at the Vancouver Art Gallery.
Sophie Barthélémy has been the Director of the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux, France, since 2014. Prior to this appointment, she held positions at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Dijon and the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Quimper. Barthélémy has organized many exhibitions of nineteenth- and twentieth-century French painting.
