The Alliance Française du Manitoba and the Winnipeg Cinematheque are joining forces to launch the 4th edition of the Winnipeg French Cinema Festival, presented this year with the title ‘Kidnappeurs, Scammers and Party People..’ This year, the Festival will showcase the best of French comedies.
The festival is organized at an opportune time as part of the 23rd edition of the French Language and Francophonie week. It is an invitation to discover some of France’s most funniest films – some old and some new – and experience the diversity of French cinema. The programming includes Jour de Fête (1949) by Jacques Tatie or C’est La Vie (2017) by Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache, which opened the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival. It will also feature Western-Canada premières such as See You Uo There (2017) by Albert Dupontel and A Journey Through French Cinema (2016) by Bertrand Tavernier.
