The University of Angers organizes international Summer Schools in June and July 2019. Angers Summer Schools are intensive experiences which bring together young people and experts from all over the world. The lectures, workshops, hands-on-sessions, live demonstrations and laboratory visits are interactive and are all in english.

 

These 6 international Summer Schools are :

 

  • The DATA and HEALTH Summer School (24th – 28th June):

Big data and algorithms are profoundly transforming contemporary medicine. The program of this interdisciplinary summer school will present the genetic and bioinformatics foundations of this evolution and its philosophical, ethical, legal, sociological and psychological issues.

The aim is to provide an overview of a set of problems, related to the use of data in health, thanks to humanities and social sciences methods. The course is intended for students and researchers interested in medicine, genetics, bioinformatic, laws or humanities.

  • The VASCULAR Summer School (24th – 28th June):

This program is scheduled over one week of intensive courses including plenary lectures, workshops, hands-on-sessions and live demonstrations and laboratory visits to provide an overview on the various techniques in both fundamental and clinical fields.

This summer school is accessible to national and international students from the 2nd undergraduate up to PhD in Medicine, Pharmaceutics and Life Sciences.

A certificate of attendance and 3 ECTS will be delivered at the end of the program.

  • The PRIMARY CARE Summer School (24th – 28th June):

Come to the Primary Care Summer School and get the opportunity to develop:

  1. Reflection on the role and the organization of primary care in different countries and the input of research on practice and development of primary care
  2. Collaborations with the aim of supporting a community of leaders in primary care

This international and multidisplinary program is ideal for:

  1. Health professionals recently graduated or students at the end of their curriculum
  2. Researchers or students in human and social sciences

  • The BIOINFORMATICS Summer School (24th June – 5 July)

The future of many biological and medical studies promotes smart use of computational tools as an essential knowledge in scientists background.

The program developed in this summer school aims at bringing students the ability to conduct ambitious biological studies from big data analysis to extract relevant biomarkers to large scale models engineering in order to enhance biological production.

  • The RESEARCH Summer School (24th June – 5th July)

This research program will show students the links between fundamental sciences and clinical research.

Topics to be covered include different research and medical fields: cell and molecular biology, genetics, epigenetic, space medicine research, mitochondrial diseases, physiopathology, and cancer.

This intensive training is open to all French and International students who have already completed 2 years of medicine/biological sciences/pharmacy and who may be interested in pursuing a M.D., M.D. /Ph.D. or Ph.D. programs and envision a career in scientific and/or medical research.

  • The PLANT HEALTH and QUALITY Summer School (24th June – 12th July)

This program will give you an insight into new developments in plant health and quality research. You will be exposed to multidisciplinary approaches in the field of sustainable management of plant health and quality.

This program will increase your scientific background and may help you to prepare a PhD project.
