On Sept. 14th, 2018, the Vancouver office of the cultural and scientific services (SCAC) of the Embassy of France, in cooperation with the Peter Wall Institute for Advanced Studies (PWIAS), invited Dr. François Bouchet, French astronomer, PhD, research director at the National Space Research Centre (CNRS, France) and researcher at the Paris Astrophysics Institute (IAP, France).

Specializing in physical cosmology and the study of large scale space structures, Dr. Bouchet gave to students and faculty a conference on « Our Amazing Universe : Astronomical Revelations and New Mysteries ». His speech focused on issues such as the origin of the Universe, the nature of the Dark Matter, and the new problems and frontier that modern astrology is unveiling.

This event, co-hosted by the SCAC, is part of the permanent effort led by the scientific’s team of the Embassy of France in Canada in order to strengthen and develop the cooperation between French and Canadians research centres, and foster transatlantic’s mobility for people and ideas.
