Jean-Michel Geneste, custodian then research director of the Lascaux cave in France, traveled to Vancouver in 2016 for the French Scholars Lecture Studies. This visit is the opportunity for him to launch a French-Canadian scientific project with the help of the representatives of the first Nations to start a study about rock art in British-Columbia. Together they organized the Rock art conference 2016.

This scientific project is backep up with a documentary project leaded by Patricia Marquet Geneste, “Rock Art,living culture in British Columbia”. A video clip about the emergence of this collaboration at Chuchuweya cave and about the international symposium of rock art in Lytton is already available. The documentary’s recording will last for three more years.
