At the beginning of the year, Brigitte Proucelle was named Knight of the Legion of Honor. The ceremony, postponed because of the pandemic, finally took place this Monday, in a small group, at the French Embassy. It is the ambassador, Mrs Karen Rispal, who gave him this medal.
Ms. Proucelle has been involved for years in the field of cultural cooperation for France and at the international.
During the five years she spent as cultural attaché for the French Embassy in Japan, she significantly participated in the development of cultural cooperation between these two countries. She also held the position of Director-General of Cultural Affairs for the city of Bordeaux, where her hard work helped the city to shine and be elected second cultural city of France in 2013.
Besides, Ms. Proucelle is a founding member and the former vice-president of the Association of Directors of Cultural Affairs of Aquitaine and the vice-president of the Association of Directors of Cultural Affairs of Major Cities of France.
Since her arrival in Canada in 2016, where she oversees cooperation in the fields of culture, education, higher education and youth mobility, science and research, she has helped develop rich and strong collaborations between France and Canada. In recent years, our two countries have extensively collaborated for innovation and cultural and creative industries.
