In May 2022, the photographic exhibit “New Beginnings” is displayed at the Embassy of France in Canada, in Ottawa.
“New Beginnings”, it is:
- A project involving 72 young refugees and immigrants from Ottawa
- More than 30 pictures that tell the story of their new beginnings
- An exhibition at the Human Rights Museum and at the Embassy of France in Ottawa
“New Beginnings”, a federating project around values shared by France and Canada
The exhibition “New Beginnings” is the result of the program Perspectives jeunesse, organized in collaboration by the U SHINE Movement, the
L’exposition “Nouveaux départs” est le fruit du programme Perspectives jeunesse, porté en collaboration par le Mouvement U SHINE, le Social Planning Council of Ottawa, with the support of the Embassy of France in Canada and the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
This photography project gathered 72 young immigrants and refugees from Ottawa. Mentored by professional photographers, they shared their experiences and their dreams for the future through photography, in order to represent their new beginnings in Canada.
By giving the youth the opportunity to turn their new life in Canada into pictures, “New Beginnings” revolves around values of fraternity and Human rights, shared by France and Canada.
