French-language proficiency certificates
You would like to have a document attesting to your level of proficiency in French in order to enroll at a university, apply for a job, or begin the process of immigrating to Québec.
The Embassy of France in Canada, in connection with the Centre International d’Etudes Pédagogiques (CIEP) and in partnership with many Canadian educational institutions, offers a wide range of certifications (diplomas and tests) to demonstrate your level of French-language proficiency, from the early stages of learning to the most advanced levels.
There are options for learners of all types and all ages. These certifications are internationally recognized and frequently used by administrative bodies, employers, and educational institutes in Canada.
The Diplômes d’Etude en Langue Française (DELF-DALF)
The Diplômes d’Étude en Langue Française (DELF-DALF) are six independent diplomas that are valid for an indefinite period of time and issued by the French Ministry of Education to certify the language skills of individuals whose native language is not French.
The Test de Connaissance du Français (TCF)
The Test de Connaissance du Français (TCF) offers an opportunity to evaluate your proficiency in French if you would like to enroll at a French university, begin the process of immigrating to Québec, or simply know your level of proficiency in the language.
