Testimony from the 2024 laureate
Roenick, laureate 2024
I think what we are doing here, during these three months, it would take years to develop with an ocean of distance between us, so it’s a lightning experience.
Usually, good ideas take time to maturate, and this cannot be done over a zoom call or a weekend visit. And staying here for these long three months is a perfect time to make decisions, improvements and see what really is worth out of the research we’ve been developing. And it’s been fantastic to share techniques and technical expertise as well.
It allowed us to work together and improve things and implement strategies that I believe this would not have been possible before.
And this could open collaborations for the future in a way that I would never expect to see this happening.
We never had opportunity to make a compared protocol and see how we do things and compare what are the good aspects of both labs. And this is something we’ve been doing over the past months, and we came to realize we have different assets that can be combined to make something even bigger and better.
