Event Details

Abdellah Taïa, a writer from Morocco living in Paris, will be in Toronto from April 11th until April 13th. His literary career began with Mon Maroc (Séguier, 2000), and Le Rouge du tarbouche (Séguier, 2004). In 2010, his novel Le Jour du roi (Seuil) won the Prix de Flore, distinction paying tribute to the promising work of a young author. Abdellah Taïa made in 2013 an eponymous movie from his book L’armée du salut (Seuil, 2006). His last novel, Celui qui est digne d’être aimé (Seuil, 2017), deals with his favorite themes : homosexuality, family, origins, vulnerability. His work is translated in many languages, and in English by the publisher Semiotext(e), based in Los Angeles.
