2nd edition of the Night of Ideas : Facing the Present, on February 2nd from 7 pm until 2 am
In partnership with the Cultural Service of the French Embassy in Canada and Hart House, the Art Museum at University of Toronto is one of the first Canadian institutions to take part in this French-initiated global, all-night event happening simultaneously in more than 50 cities.
Join about thirty French and North-American artists, scientists, authors and intellectuals, for an entire night of screenings, art installations, workshops performances and debates about migrations and diasporas.
Featuring award-winning French-Congolese author Alain Mabanckou (keynote), , Curators Jonathan Shaughnessey (National Gallery) and Catherine Crowston (Art Gallery of Alberta), member of the Search and Rescue team of SOS Méditerranée Marc Carbonell, Burkinabe choreographer Aguibou Bougobali Sanou, French philosopher Fabienne Brugère, Indian artist Divya Mehra, Afrofuturist French-Beninese performer Mawena Yehouessi, French researcher Marine Denis, Anishinaabe futurist filmmaker and artist Lisa Jackson…
