Music: Philippe Hersant
Jean-Paul Schintu presents a theatrical adaptation of Albert Camus’ famous autobiographical novel, The First Man. This autobiographical text recalls the author’s childhood and adolescence in Algeria at the beginning of the 20th century (the essential link to his mother, the search for his father who died in the War of 14/18, the brotherhood of the poor, the fundamental damage of colonialism, the School of the Republic, the awakening of sensuality in the face of nature) but also the writing of this work on the backdrop of the Algerian War at the end of the 1950s.
